Happy Father's Day to everyone!!!!

Today is a special day because we are so lucky to have so many special people in our life.
We get to celebrate Daddy, Papa and Pop Pop today. They are all very important to us and we appreciate everything they do.

I have to say I am a very lucky lady to have a father as wonderful as mine. He is not just my dad but my best friend. I know that I can count on him through anything. He remains strong even when facing challenging times. I look to my dad for the strength I need and patience I need during these days. He has always shown an unconditional love for me that I can only hope to give my children. You have taught me so much as a parent and I only hope I make you proud.

Happy Birthday my sweet little girl.

It is hard to believe you are two years old today. The time has gone by so fast and you have changed so much. I am so blessed to be your momma and you amaze me in every way. I celebrate sweet and precious memories of today thinking about when you came into this world. It was a perfect day. Your daddy and I were so excited to finally see your sweet face. We have watched you grow and become such a unique little person. Thank you for making me a better person.

I have a few pictures to share from the storm that happened on Friday. Everyone who knows me knows that I am terrified of storms and take them very seriously. Missy and Matt came to get me and Marleigh to go to Vanderbilt for a stupid shot. I tried to encourage Missy to wait but she was more concerned with Matt being hungry as always. When we left we ran right into the tornado. We drove away from the storm and ended up at Hardees's were I frantically called home to warn Mark and Haley. I had left Mason at home so you can imagine my feelings. I did finally talk with them and they were safe.
The tornado had come right through our neighborhood. We were very lucky that everyone was safe. We did lose some beautiful trees and the house and cars had some damage. It could have been much worse than it was. I am just thankful that we are safe. We can always replant trees and buy new cars.
Thank you to the many people who have come to volunteer there time to help clean up this mess. It is amazing how many people just came by to ask what can I do?

Dirty Laundry

It is amazing what things entertain my children. Mark put them in the laundry basket and they loved it. We buy them so many toys and they find the strangest things to play with.

Marleigh is starting to try to sneak food from the cabinets. In this picture she has the crackers and managed to sneak past me into the playroom. I knew something was up when it was way too quiet. I looked in the room and there she is trying to get into the crackers. When I asked her what she was doing, her response was "Bubba did it."

In this picture Marleigh decided she wanted to take a ride in the walker. I think she is a little jealous of watching Mason with her old toys.

Marleigh has a new trick she likes to try in the mornings. When we go get her out of bed she has taken her pajamas and diaper off and is a naked little girl. She decided one morning she needed a blanket to cover her up. She came downstairs to show daddy her new outfit.

One day I was giving Marleigh a bath and I left the room for one minute and when I returned she had her crayon and paper coloring in the tub.

These are just a few of the stories I have to tell around our house. There is never a dull moment with our little ones.

We have had a few nice and warm days and the kids love to be outside. Marleigh is not a big fan of the camera and she likes to run from me whenever I get it out. We were able to get a few good ones. Mason loves to hide his smile and he could not resist and finally gave in.

We celebrated Mason's 9 month birthday yesterday with the Guthrie family. He is getting so big and time has gone by way to fast. He is crawling and trying so hard to stand up so he can chase Marleigh. It is amazing watching his little personality grow.
As you can see Maymie likes dressing Mason up. He did not seem to mind very much.
We had a great time with everyone and thanks Missy for having us.

Today I am headed to Vanderbilt for my MRI scan. My hopes are that this treatment is working and we see some positive results. I am keeping my spirits high and fighting this disease with everything I have. My two little ones keep me focused and give me the strength on days when it seems to hard. Their sweet faces, smiles, laughter and dancing keep me smiling on days when tears fill my eyes. Marleigh has the sweetest little voice and to hear her say "I love you Mommy" makes me even stronger.

I appreciate everyone who has kept me in their thoughts and prayers. Thank you for the cards, emails and phone calls. It means so much during this time.

I have been trying to feed Mason baby food and he is not thrilled at all. I have tried apples, carrots, peas, green beans and I get the same reaction. He normally just spits it out with a look of disgust. He is developing quite the personality. I do believe he has inherited the stubborn gene(from his Daddy).

Mark and I celebrated our 2 year anniversary in September and I thought I would share some of our memories. We went to North Carolina and rented a cabin on the Nantahala Lake. The mountains were beautiful and the lake was so clear and clean!!! The weather was perfect and it was a wonderful way to celebrate our anniversary. It was my first time away from both my children and I think I did good with only a few phone calls.
We kayaked across the lake with one paddle but we made it back safely with only one little leak in the boat.
I got to experience whitewater rafting and I loved it. I was scared at first but became a pro. Ha
Mark and I decided to have our own raft and we follow a guide. We did great and manged to stay in the boat.
Enjoy our pictures and I am sorry for those of you looking forward to seeing me in the wetsuit, but I accidentally expose those pics. Too bad.

We were able to take a trip to the beach this past week and I have a few pics to share. We went to georgia to visit the Reilly family. I miss them so very much and it was so good to see them. Thank you guys so much for everything!! Meredith is such a great hostess.
Marleigh and Mason enjoyed seeing Will and Bryce. I think Marleigh has a crush on Bryce.
We spent the day at the beach and Marleigh loved it, but Mason had other feelings.
She had a blast at the beach and was asleep before we pulled out of the parking space.
We hated coming home to the boro and reality. I will definitely be back soon for maybe a little "Leigh Time"

I Have not been the best at keeping the blog updated but I hope to get better. Missy has that talent and I can't keep up with her.
Mason is doing great and he is so precious. I am so excited that he looks like his momma!! He is such a good baby and yes he does more than just sleep. I actually have pictures with his eyes open.
He has such a laid back personality so far. I even had to ask the doctor if I should worry that he does not cry that much. His response was "Just wait."
Marleigh loves him and gives him kisses and hugs all day. She is so sweet with him and she keeps him entertained.

Leigh did and is doing great!
He is very cute & even has dark hair!! Thank heavens!

Dr Bressman missed his birth too- this is Dr. Dunn-- she was great!

Another Update

We went to the doctor yesterday and he was willing to give in and induce me this Saturday. I knew that would trigger this little one into motion. Last night my contractions were a little more intense and today I am feeling a little different. I am not one to overreact but I do not want a replay of Missy's baby drama. I may be tough but I want an epidural!!!!! She does have me beat on that note.
Anyway we are hanging around the house and timing contractions. If this continues he may be here today if not we will keep waiting.
Marleigh has been a trooper and keeps giving me kisses and love. I know she is wondering what is wrong with my momma???

I will let you know when he decides to make his grand entrance.

Update

Things have been a little crazy here lately in the Garrison home.
Let me start by saying NO there is no baby yet!!!!! He is cozy inside his momma and obviously not ready to face this world. He may be scared by all the little voices he hears and thinks life may be crazy on the outside???
We had our last appointment on Wednesday and we had a ultrasound which said everything looked great. I have been having regular contractions now for 3 weeks but not strong enough to move things forward. Things are going well and I feel fine except for the nightly aches and pains. I am enjoying these times with Marleigh and hopefully she will excited about her baby brother.
I am blessed with healthy pregnancies and I do love being pregnant, but I am ready to see his little face. I know Mark is ready to have his wife back.

We did get new carpet in the house and it looks great. After all the drama we did finally get everything taken care of. I will not even begin to share with you all that has happened but I will say we are very thankful it is done. Mark has worked very hard getting the house back in order.

We are doing great and just trying to remain patient until dragonfly decides it is time.

Memorial Day Fun

We had a wonderful Memorial Day weekend with family and I wanted to share some of our pics. Marleigh had a blast with everyone and she loves the water.
I was a little concerned that she might not enjoy the pool considering that last year she cried the entire time, but she loved it. She enjoys playing with Maymie and mimics her every move. It is so precious to watch them play and aggravate each other.

Happy Mothers Day

I hope everyone had a Happy Mothers Day. Mark asked me what I wanted to do and my crazy response was "lets go hiking!" Yes at 35 weeks pregnant I decide we should go for a walk in the woods. We drove to MountEagle and hiked almost a mile. I thought I could make it more but an extra 25 pounds said otherwise. It was great and Marleigh loved riding on Daddy's back. She is destined to be a little nature girl. We made it home after missing a turn, but had the chance to drive through beautiful country towns.
We had a wonderful time at Missy's house and Madden is learning to tolerate the two wild girls. We almost got a picture with Nanny.
It was my perfect day. Thank you Mark and Marleigh for making my day so special.

Celebrations

April was a busy month full of celebrations. It is hard to believe that a year has gone by and my little girl is a year old. Time has gone by so fast and she has changed so much. I look back at pictures when she first came into the world and look at her now with amazement. She is such a sweet soul with a smile that will make all your troubles go away.
We had her birthday dinner with Missy and Maymie at our house. I made Marleigh and Maymie little cakes and Marleigh had her first sugar experience. She loved the icing and thought it would look good in her hair. Mark and Maymie were a little nervous about her being so dirty and wanted to bath her immediately. She had a blast and enjoyed every minute.
We then had her birthday party and celebrated with family and friends. Thank you so much to everyone that came to share that special time with us. She was so excited to see all her favorite people together. She had such a big day that she fell asleep in her highchair eating dinner.

Mark's Birthday

We celebrated Mark's 35th birthday this weekend. We started the day playing in the snow. Marleigh woke up and was excited looking out the window at all the white. When we took her outside she was not sure what to think. She did enjoyed driving her jeep around in the snow. Ashton enjoyed eating the snow and Max and Avery were not very impressed.
I surprised Mark later that night with dinner in nashville. He had no idea that his favorite people were waiting for him to get there. Thanks Dawn and Laura for all your help. I am so glad everyone could make it. We enjoyed seeing everyone.

I am finally updating the blog and we can move on from christmas. I have updated pictures of Marleigh to share. She is growing so fast and looks more like her daddy everyday. Her popeye grin cracks us up. She has a mind of her own and we are on her schedule. She communicates her needs very clearly. Lucky for Mark she has my personality and is little miss indepedent. She truly is happy little girl always of full of smiles and giggles.
Mark and I are doing well and we are excited about our little one on the way. He is doing well and things are wonderful. This pregnancy is just as easy and I absolutley love every minute. Mark thinks I feel better when I am pregnant.

I wanted to share some of our pictures from our trip to Orlando. Thanks Dad for taking us we appreciate you. Marleigh was so excited to see so many animals. We even got to meet Jack Hanna. Haley was able to pet dolphins and stingrays. In one of the pictures you can see Mark and Haley on the roller coaster and if you notice Mark's legs sticking straight out. They are the brave ones.

I am finally updating the blog. Things are going well at the Garrison household. Marleigh is growing and just had her 6 month check up. She weighs 15 lbs 11 oz and is 26 inches long. The doctor says she is right on schedule and we have a healthy little girl. She has a tooth coming in and is showing her moody side at times. She gets that from her dad!! HaHa
Marleigh was a lion for Halloween and she loved wearing her costume.

We had a wonderful weekend at the lakehouse with Nanny, Missy and Maymie. I know the dogs enjoyed themselves and even Dakota got to run free. It was so nice to get away and relax. Today Marleigh is 5 months old. She is growing so fast and changes daily. You have seen the introduction to rice cereal and it never really got any better. I thought I would try feeding her something new. I tried peas and she loves them. She will eat the rice cereal but only with added applesauce. She is so much like her Aunt Missy who has always loved peas!!
I cannot believe I am already feeding her fruits and veggies.It is amusing to watch her learn to eat from a spoon.
She is such a sweetie and we are enjoying evey minute with her.

Anniversary

Today Mark and I celebrate our 1 year anniversary. We had our first night away from Marleigh and yes I survived! Thank you Missy, Matt and Maymie for taking such good care of her.
Mark surprised me with a romantic evening planned in Nashville. We had dinner at The Melting Pot and stayed in a hotel downtown. It was a wonderful evening to celebrate and remember our special day. I made a show of the wedding to share with you. We are thankful for everyone who was able to be a part of that perfect day. It truly was beautiful!

Hi everyone

I hope everyone is doing well. I have been a little behind on my posting so here is an update. Marleigh is doing well and changing everyday. We took her for her 4 month checkup and she weighs 13 lbs and 10 oz and is 25 inches long. Mark was there to hold her when she got her shots. It was me having a hard time listening to that little cry. We did start her on rice cereal which has not been easy. She likes to spit it out and make a huge mess. Marleigh was curious about what she would look like as a brunette. I think this is a good look for her. Maybe there is a chance that her color will change?? Yeah right!!!!
Her hair is like mine in the fact that it is starting to stick straight up and will not lay down.

Hi everyone

We made it back from florida with wonderful news. I had my yearly appointments at the Mayo Clinic and my tests came back perfect. Mark and Marleigh were there with me giving me the support I needed. I realize how lucky I am to have her and feel so thankful for everyday. All day during my appointments she was all I could think about. The doctors are very hopeful that my cancer will stay in remission and this January I will be considered cured.

We got to spend time with friends while we were down there. It was so good to see Amy and Chris and see their new house. Thank you guys so much. Next time we will have more time to play. We enjoyed Lt. Dangel and cannot wait to see the costume!!

We went to visit the Reilly family on St. Simons Island in Georgia and had a blast. Will and Bryce had fun with Marleigh and she misses them so much. Thank you Will for being such a great friend and reading books to her everyday. We will be back to visit very soon. It was so good to spend time with Meredith who I miss so much. Next time I will bring Ashton for Ripkin to see his old girlfriend. Thanks for everything. I still do not understand the flashing beer mug in the dark????
